Alejandro Ramírez

CEO of Cinépolis

Alejandro Ramírez is the CEO of Cinépolis, the largest film exhibition company in Latin America, with presence in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Central America, India, Spain and the United States. Prior to Cinépolis, he served as Mexico’s Representative for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and served as Technical Secretary for the Human and Social Development Cabinet of Mexico City’s Government. He also worked for the World Bank and for the United Nations Development Program in the areas of poverty and human development. Alejandro is also President of: the Mexican Business Council, the Morelia International Film Festival, the Cinépolis Foundation and the Mexicanos Primero initiative, dedicated to raising the quality of education in Mexico. He is co-author of the book “Poverty, Human Development and Indigenous People in Latin America”, and participates in the Boards of several companies, such as BBVA Bancomer, the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness, Alfa Group, Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard’s Center of Latin American Studies and the University of Harvard.
